Law Enforcement Against Drugs and Violence (L.E.A.D.) Launches Nationwide Digital Threat Assessment? (DTA) Initiative

in Partnership with Safer Schools Together (SST) to Combat Violence and Bullying Stemming from Social Media

L.E.A.D. partners with Safer Schools Together to Train Law Enforcement and Schools to Keep Communities Safe

ALLENTOWN, NJ, Jan. 20, 2022 – Law Enforcement Against Drugs & Violence (L.E.A.D.) is a non- profit organization dedicated to bringing communities and law enforcement agencies closer together and educating communities about the dangers of drugs and violence.  In partnership with Safer Schools Together (SST), L.E.A.D. will provide training that helps police departments and school personnel to recognize and respond to violence and bullying using Digital Threat Assessment? (DTA).  By engaging with popular social media applications, DTA teaches participants to identify the digital behavioral baseline of individuals on the pathway to violence.

SST has a proven record of helping schools throughout North America minimize and manage their risks of student violence with reliable, professional training.  The International Center for Digital Threat Assessment (ICDTA), a partner of SST, was also established to give threat assessment teams the tools and training needed to prevent tragedy through early identification, so they can intervene at the first sign of worrisome behavior.

“Whether it’s bullying or the possibility of a violent act, L.E.A.D. is at the forefront of providing the training and DTA tools for law enforcement and school districts nationwide,” said Nick DeMauro, CEO of L.E.A.D.  “Keeping communities safe is part of our core mission.  This partnership is a game changer in providing relevant and much needed information about the validity of social media threats to communities.”

L.E.A.D. is a comprehensive organization providing services ON THE STREET and IN THE CLASSROOM.  The “IN THE CLASSROOM” program has 3000 trained instructors in 40 states which include dedicated police officers, teachers and prevention specialists who provide leadership and resources to allow law enforcement agencies to partner with educators, community leaders and families.  L.E.A.D. has the only proven, tested effective, law enforcement focused anti-drug and anti-violence curricula for students K-12 in the United States.  The L.E.A.D. curriculum is taught over the course of a 10-week program to educate youth on how they can make smart decisions without the involvement of drugs or violence.

“I’m thrilled with our new National Partner, L.E.A.D. who will help us deliver our DTA training to prevent violence,” said Theresa Campbell, CEO of Safer Schools Together.  “Our goal at SST is to prevent tragedy by helping law enforcement and schools collect data and use digital tools to understand credible threats.  We are honored to assist L.E.A.D. with growing their impact throughout the United States.”
