The Community Chest Welcomes Health Care Administrator to Board of Managers

(Eastern Bergen County, New Jersey; February 14, 2022) -- The Community Chest of Eastern Bergen County announces Bridgette Mitchell of Tenafly has been appointed to the Board of Managers.

Mitchell, Clinical Coordinator of Women's Health Services at Boriken Neighborhood Health Center in New York City, will serve a three-year term on The Chest's Board of Managers.  During her tenure, she will work with the Board of Manager's 23 trustees, to carry out the organization's mission and support its activities.  As part of her board work, she will also serve on the allocations committee.

            Mitchell has been involved in the community and professionally with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Jack and Jill of America, Inc., and the Tenafly Public Schools Diversity Committee.  "The Community Chest of Eastern Bergen County welcomes Bridgette Mitchell to the Board of Managers.  She brings a wealth of skills and experience in the community that will help us continue to find solutions to the serious issues we face, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic," said Barbara Strauss, President, The Community Chest.

            The organization draws members of the community to be a guide during difficult times to help neighbors encountering food insecurity, homelessness, and job loss among other concerns. The Chest identifies pressing issues in the area, leads initiatives and supports agencies serving 15 municipalities in eastern Bergen County.  These municipalities include Alpine, Bergenfield, Closter, Cresskill, Demarest, Dumont, Englewood, Englewood Cliffs, Harrington Park, Haworth, Northvale, Norwood, Old Tappan, Rockleigh and Tenafly.
