TEDESCO DELIVERS 2022 STATE OF THE COUNTY ADDRESS
(HACKENSACK, N.J.) – Today, County Executive Jim Tedesco delivered his 2022 Annual State of the County Address in a pre-recorded message released on Bergen County social media outlets, YouTube, and the County website.
With COVID cases rapidly declining and the county’s vaccination rate steadily increasing, Tedesco declared that “the Bergen County rebound is speeding ahead,” and his administration continues to move Bergen County forward by addressing the new challenges facing Bergen County residents.
These efforts include stepping up consumer protection measures in the backdrop of rising inflation through a new consumer protection initiative called Bergen Fights Back, securing funding to jump start a solution for the Route 17 bottleneck, and launching a new economic development program to help small businesses compete and thrive in the post-pandemic economy.
Tedesco also outlined his vision for the future including several major upcoming projects such as the construction of a new Career and Technical Education School by the Bergen County Technical School District, the Riverside County Park revitalization project, a wide scale initiative to install broadband across the county, and the modernization project at the Law and Public Safety Institute in Mahwah.
Crediting Bergen County’s workforce for their unwavering commitment over the last two years, Tedesco applauded how the County’s nearly 2500 employees “are the engine that powers our County forward and drives our success, and their hard work continues to deliver high quality services to our residents every single day.”
