Alfred Sanzari Enterprises Signs Lease to Bring United Food and Commercial Workers’ Union to Elmwood Park Plaza

Elmwood Park, N.J. (March 22, 2022) – Alfred Sanzari Enterprises, a preeminent family-owned and operated commercial real estate firm, announces it has negotiated a new lease with the United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) Union Local 888 for 6,029 square feet of office space at Elmwood Park Plaza, located at 475 Market Street in Elmwood Park, N.J.

The tenant was represented by Brian Leary and James O’Neill of Bridge Property Advisors while Larry Martin, Tom Reilly and Brendan McBride of JLL represented ownership in the transaction.

Founded in 1957, UFCW Union Local 888 is one of the most diverse labor unions in the United Food and Commercial Workers International. UFCW Local 888 boasts a membership of over 6,000 members from a wide range of industries across New York and New Jersey.

Previously based in East Rutherford, N.J., the local labor union’s search for a new regional headquarters brought it to Elmwood Park Plaza. Conveniently located on Market Street near I-80, Route 46, and the Garden State Parkway, Elmwood Park Plaza is a professionally managed office building comprised of four stories and +/-68,000 square feet of easily adaptable office space. The building’s highly accessible location also boasts easy access to public transportation as well as multiple retail and dining options within a short walking distance including a Dunkin’ next door as well as nearby CVS and Manhattan Bagel locations. In addition, the building features ample on-site surface and covered parking and has approved zoning for both office and medical uses, making it an exceptionally suited location for a wide range of companies and organizations, like UFCW Local 888.

“We continue to see heightened demand for office space across our portfolio and remain bullish on the sector despite the challenges over the past two years,” said Steve Jennings, Vice President of Leasing and Marketing at Alfred Sanzari Enterprises. “For tenants like UFCW Local 888, the importance of having a space where employees can collaborate, and its members can easily access the location and services cannot be overstated and continues to drive demand across the sector.”

Rosalba Perez, Secretary Treasurer for UFCW Local 888 added, “As we sought to move our headquarters, we placed a premium on ensuring ease of access for all those we serve as well as adaptability to the wide range of programs and services we administer from our headquarters. Elmwood Park Plaza checked both of those boxes and we are confident that Alfred Sanzari Enterprises’ hands-on management will ensure we have a headquarters to be proud of for years to come.”

Elmwood Park Plaza currently has a range of office space available starting at +/-6,000 square feet up to 47,701 square feet. For more information on leasing opportunities at Elmwood Park Plaza or to schedule a tour, please contact Steve Jennings at (201) 968-4819 or sjennings@sanzari.com.
