Bergen New Bridge Medical Center Offering No-Cost Mammography to Uninsured & Underinsured Patients
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month the hospital is offering expanded access to essential screenings
(Paramus, NJ) Bergen New Bridge Medical Center is picking up the cost of mammography for patients who are uninsured and will pay the difference for those who are underinsured during the month of October. The Medical Center is embarking on the “October Is On Us” campaign to mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the importance of preventative screenings.
“It is no secret that early detection can save lives, especially in the case of breast cancer,” said Bergen New Bridge President and CEO, Deborah Visconi. “Our mission as a safety net hospital is to make sure that those who are most vulnerable and those in underserved communities get access to essential preventative care like mammography.”
Bergen New Bridge offers comprehensive breast imaging and diagnostic services, including a new state-of-the-art 3D Digital Mammography Unit, which offers more accurate detection and early diagnosis. This new smarter 3D technology provides a noticeably more comfortable experience. The hospital also provides breast ultrasounds and minimally invasive biopsy procedures using ultrasound or stereotactic guidance.
The newly renovated facility offers a tranquil environment, and our compassionate team provides patient-focused care in a warm and safe environment designed for optimal patient experience. The center was created with a patient’s well-being in mind.
Those looking to make an appointment should call 201.225.7130.
The Medical Center encourages everyone to ask their doctor to place an order for their imaging exam before arrival. If an order has already been issued, BNBMC asks that it be brought to the appointment.
If prior breast or mammography imaging from an outside healthcare provider was done, a digital copy of the imaging should be brought to the appointment, preferably on disc in DICOM format or be sent in advance of the visit. BNBMC requests arrival 30 minutes before the appointment to allow for registration unless otherwise instructed. Patients should not use any powders or deodorant as it can interfere with the imaging.
