The West Side Concert Series Kicks Off its 47th Season on October 23!

RIDGEWOOD – The West Side Concert Series, an outreach ministry of West Side Presbyterian Church, is excited to announce its 47th season – the first full, in-person season since 2018-2019! The new season kicks off with a performance by The Hobart Trio on October 23 at 3:00 pm.

In keeping with tradition, the 2022-2023 concert season features something for everyone:

October 23, 2022 at 3:00 pm             The Hobart Trio

This highly accomplished chamber ensemble in residence at William Paterson University was founded in 2015 and is comprised of highly accomplished musicians who are on the faculty at the university: Kathleen Butler-Hopkins, violin; Joseph Kimura, cello; and Soyeon Park, piano. They will perform works by Haydn, Shostakovich and Mendelssohn.

November 27, 2022 at 3:00 pm         Felicia Moore, soprano

The “lustrous, commanding soprano,” as described by The New York Times, made her debut at the Metropolitan Opera this past season as First Lady in The Magic Flute. Accompanied by acclaimed pianist Craig Ketter, her performance at West Side will include songs by Debussy, Sibelius, Strauss and Wagner.

February 5, 2023 at 3:00 pm             The West Point Band

The renowned band returns to West Side with a repertoire of music new and old for symphonic winds, virtuosic solos, uplifting and entertaining vocal numbers and, of course, the marches and patriotic songs that one would expect from the Army’s oldest band, formed in 1817 with a single drummer and fifer.

February 19, 2023 at 3:00 pm           The Juilliard Chamber Orchestra

This conductorless ensemble returns to West Side with an exciting program featuring works by Melinda Wagner, Joaquín Rodrigo and Mozart. The ensemble is coached by Eric Bartlett, who is a 32-year veteran of the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra and a member of the New York Philharmonic since 1997.
