Steinway Pianist Performance Complements Exhibition

“PULSE: Resonating Earth” remains on view until Dec. 8 in Gallery Bergen.

PARAMUS, N.J. – Steinway & Sons performing artist Carolyn Enger will perform at Gallery Bergen this month as part of the “PULSE: Resonating Earth” exhibition by Poramit Thantapalit currently on view. The free and open-to-the-public Thursday, Nov. 17, 7 p.m. solo performance will take place in the gallery, located at Bergen Community College, 400 Paramus Road, Paramus. Guests can reserve their tickets at tiny.cc/c4k0vz. Students from Bergen’s culinary arts program will provide refreshments.

Enger’s performance will include ambient piano with works by Bach, Wolfgang Rihm and others alongside the backdrop of Thantapalit’s installation of aquatic imagery created through refuse found in waterways. Enger has presented programs at numerous venues including Carnegie Hall, the National Gallery of Art and the New York Public Library as one of only 1,600 pianists recognized by piano manufacturer Steinway & Sons as a “Steinway artist.”

The exhibition previously featured an opening reception performance by Bergen professor Lynn Needle’s Art of Motion Dance Theatre. Gallery Director Tim Blunk curated all phases of the installation, which remains on view through Thursday, Dec. 8. For more on the exhibition, including updated hours, visit gallery.bergen.edu.
