Deborah Visconi Appointed to Felician University Board of Trustees

RUTHERFORD, NJ – Felician University proudly announces that Deborah Visconi, the President and Chief Executive Officer of Bergen New Bridge Medical Center (BNBMC), has been appointed to the Board of Trustees.

“We are very excited to have Deborah Visconi join us in our mission of providing a competitive, value-based college education to a large and diverse student population. The success of Felician University has always rested in our ability to graduate highly skilled, workforce-ready students who go on to make a difference in the businesses and communities they serve,” said Jim D’Agostino, Chairman of the Board of Trustees. “Deb’s vast experience, particularly in the field of healthcare, will help us accelerate our goals in preparing Felician University graduates for successful employment while satisfying the significant needs of the region, the state, and the nation. As an HSI (Hispanic Serving Institution), we also recognize her fine example as a successful Latina leader and are very grateful for the mentorship she has already provided to our students.”

As the President and CEO of BNBMC, Visconi is credited with significantly strengthening the hospital’s core services of acute care, behavioral health, addiction treatment, and long-term care, and increasing access to primary care and behavioral healthcare for all Bergen County residents including historically underserved communities. Under her leadership, BNBMC emerged as a critical partner and healthcare provider throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

In her 30-year career, Visconi previously served as the Director of Operations for Morristown Medical Center and was Senior Vice President of Executive Administration at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City. She is the Director of New Jersey Hospital Association Health PAC and a provider council member of the NJ Health Care Quality Institute while also holding other professional memberships.

In 2022, Bergen New Bridge Medical Center was nationally recognized as a Top Hospital and Top Teaching Hospital by The Leapfrog Group for their achievements in patient safety and quality. Modern Healthcare named Visconi as one of the Top 25 Women Leaders in 2021 and ROI placed her on their Health Care Influences Power List the same year.

For her exemplary service, Visconi received an Honorary Doctorate Degree from Felician University’s School of Nursing and was an inaugural speaker for the Felician University School of Business & Information Sciences Women in Leadership speaker series. Visconi received her Master of Healthcare Administration from The New School in New York City.

“I’m honored to join the Felician Board of Trustees and support the work the University does as it aligns with the mission and vision of Bergen New Bridge and my passion for education and professional development,” said Visconi.
