Spectrum for Living’s Client-Prom, “An Evening in Hollywood”

River Vale, New Jersey – Spectrum for Living held their client prom, “An Evening in Hollywood,” on June 14, 2023 at Florentine Gardens.

“From gowns and tuxedos, to corsages and limousines, people often associate going to their high school prom as a rite of passage. Unfortunately, many individuals living with disabilities have never had the opportunity to experience such a wonderful event, so we decided to bridge this gap by providing the occasion for our clients to experience a prom of their own,” shared Christopher Perry, President & CEO of Spectrum for Living. “We are thankful for the support of our many corporate sponsors and volunteers who contributed to the success of the event.”

With over 200 people in attendance, Spectrum for Living clients, families, and staff joined together for, “An Evening in Hollywood” that they will never forget. The event featured dinner, dancing, photo booth opportunities, and the crowning of Prom King and Queen. Adorned with a red carpet and paparazzi photoshoot outside the main doors, clients experienced the royal treatment photographed like their favorite celebrities as they showed off their new dresses and suits.

“It is through the help of generous donors and volunteers that our clients felt their best at the prom. Individual, group, and corporate volunteers and donors like KPMG and All Pro Maintenance LLC coordinated company and town-wide donation drives to collect apparel. Hundreds of suits, gowns, evening bags were collected, and our clients were delighted to shop for apparel and accessories to create their perfect look,” added Nickalina Napolitano, Spectrum for Living’s Director of Recreation. “We were fortunate enough to have the support of volunteers who traveled to client residences on the day of the prom to assist with hair, makeup and dressing for the big event.”

“An Evening in Hollywood” served as one of the many ways Spectrum for Living’s Recreation Team coordinates inclusive programming for clients to ensure they experience all major milestones life has to offer.
