National Council of Jewish Women Kicks Off 31st Annual Stay-at-Home Fundraiser
Proceeds benefit women, children, and families in Bergen County and beyond throughout the year
TEANECK, NJ (November 15, 2023) - The National Council of Jewish Women Bergen County Section (NCJW BCS), a grassroots organization of volunteers and advocates who turn progressive ideals into action, has launched its 31st annual Stay-at-Home fundraiser with a donation goal of $100,000 to commemorate the organization’s centennial anniversary. The Stay-at-Home fundraiser runs from November 2023 through June 2024. Funds raised help to support services for women, children and families in the Bergen County community.
NCJW BCS supports various social causes, including domestic violence, food insecurity, women’s rights, reproductive justice, voting rights, gun violence and a weekly ‘swim-in’, a therapeutic water exercise program for people with Multiple Sclerosis. They also collaborate and volunteer with local organizations and nonprofits such as Bergen Family Center, Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters (HIPPY), Center for Hope & Safety (CHS), Youth Consultation Services (YCS), Adler Aphasia Center, Jewish Home at Rockleigh, Family Promise Walk-In Dinner Program, and the Center for Food Action.
“Community service and advocacy are paramount to our mission to improve the quality of life for women, children, and families, and to do so, fundraising is essential,” said Joan Ornstein, Co-President of NCJW BCS. “The generous contributions we receive throughout the year go a long way in improving and brightening the lives of others in Bergen County and beyond. Our Stay-at-Home fundraiser enables donors to save on the expenses of attending traditional fundraising events and instead contribute directly to those in need in our community.”
