Bergen Volunteers Invites Community to Paddles and Prosecco, a Pickleball Fundraising and Networking Event

[HACKENSACK, N.J. - June 6, 2024] – Bergen Volunteers invites pickleball enthusiasts of all skills and community advocates alike to join them for a unique fundraising event, Paddles and Proseccoc, set to take place on Thursday, July 18th at Bergen County Pickleball Club.

The impact of supporting this event goes beyond enjoying an evening of gaming; it directly aids vital social service programs offered by Bergen Volunteers to those in need at little to no cost. The Hackensack-based non-profit serves constituents in all 70 municipalities through its programs including CHORE, CHEER, Mentoring, and Bergen READS, among others. Each of these initiatives plays a unique role in fostering community strength.

CHORE helps elderly and disabled residents live independently by offering minor home repairs. CHEER delivers companionship and assistance to homebound seniors. Mentoring provides life skills and critical emotional support to youth and single parents. Bergen READS fosters a love of reading and improves literacy skills among elementary school children. Bergen Volunteers’ additional essential programs assist those in need through its robust social support network.

“Our free programs transform the lives of youth, seniors, families, and individuals in need through programs that promote human connection,” said Nina Larson, CEO of Bergen Volunteers. “This fundraiser is critical to our ability to continue providing services to all those living in Bergen County whose needs are not being met due to gaps in the social welfare network.”

Attendees can anticipate a night filled with camaraderie and engaging activities suitable for all skill levels. From shopping the vendor village, bidding in a silent auction, a 50/50 raffle, and plenty of food and drinks, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Additionally, participants will have the chance to network with individuals who share a passion for community involvement.  Not a seasoned player? Beginners welcome! Pickleball lessons are available for those who are interested.

“Events like Paddles and Prosecco are the heartbeat of our organization,” Larson elaborated. “They not only provide a wonderful experience for our supporters but also generate the crucial funds needed to keep our programs thriving.”
