OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM BERGEN COUNTY EXECUTIVE JIM TEDESCO

HACKENSACK, NJ – County Executive Jim Tedesco issues the following statement in response reports that the June 30th implementation MTA’s congestion pricing is suspended:

I welcome New York Governor Kathy Hochul’s reported decision to postpone the implementation of the MTA’s Manhattan congestion pricing plan that was slated to start on June 30th.

Thank you, Governor Hochul, for listening to the concerns of residents and leaders from the greater New York metropolitan area. It is evidently clear that congestion pricing is not a solution for relief, just merely a scheme to redirect negative environmental conditions a few miles away to Bergen County and other neighboring communities surrounding Manhattan.

This is a major win for the people of Bergen County and all who do business in Manhattan.
