Innovation on Display at Meadowlands Open House

LYNDHURST, N.J. – Bergen Community College at the Meadowlands will showcase resources such as the Innovation Center, paramedic science laboratory and conference center as part of an upcoming open house at the facility.

The event, which will take place on Thursday, July 11 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at 1280 Wall Street West in Lyndhurst, will provide prospective students, their families and local residents the opportunity to explore Bergen’s southern location that has undergone a transformation in recent years.

The most significant development remains the opening of the Innovation Center, which brings the “real world” into the classroom. The Center encompasses an entire floor of the Lyndhurst location and represents the latest initiative in Bergen’s commitment to developing programs that prepare students for employment in thriving workforce sectors. The Center includes four signature laboratories:

· Bloomberg Finance, featuring stock market terminals and a 16-foot LED ticker displaying real-time stock prices;

· Cybersecurity, featuring cyberthreat monitors that display actual security breaches occurring throughout the world;

· Gaming, featuring six 65-inch overhead monitors and software such as SpeedTree 3D modeling; and the

· Innovation Lounge, featuring space for student collaboration and programs.

The open house will also provide attendees with information on campus life at the facility, financial aid and even information on a new partnership with Ramapo College of New Jersey that will allow Bergen graduates to transfer directly into the four-year college and take classes at the Meadowlands facility.

Prospective open house attendees can RSVP at openhouse.bergen.edu, call (201) 447-7200 or email admissions@bergen.edu.
