TEDESCO, COMMISSIONERS PRESENT $125K IN OPEN SPACE FUNDING TO BOROUGH OF RIDGEFIELD

Funding will support addition of passive park area and facility improvements at Veteran’s Memorial Field
(RIDGEFIELD, N.J.) – County Executive Jim Tedesco and members of the Board of Commissioners recently presented a ceremonial check for $125,026 from the Bergen County Open Space Trust Fund (OSTF) to Ridgefield Mayor Hugo Jimenez and members of the borough council.

The grant will fund upgrades and improvements to Veteran’s Memorial Park. The scope of work includes building a new passive park area which will feature a new pavilion, picnic tables, benches, and chessboard tables. The funding will also support the installation of a shade area and repairs to exterior fencing surrounding the municipal pool.

“These improvements demonstrate our ongoing commitment to preserving and enhancing open spaces in Bergen County,” said County Executive Jim Tedesco. “The Open Space Trust Fund is vital to ensuring that our parks, recreational areas, and community spaces remain accessible and enjoyable for all residents and future generations. We’re proud to partner with Ridgefield on these meaningful enhancements to Veteran’s Memorial Field.”

Ridgefield Mayor Hugo Jimenez expressed his gratitude, stating, “This funding will help us enhance Veteran’s Memorial Field, providing our residents with a more comfortable and enjoyable space. We appreciate the County’s partnership in making these meaningful improvements to benefit our community.”
