Pediatric Gynecologist from Mount Sinai Joins Valley’s Pediatric Team

PARAMUS, NJ, November 20, 2024 – Valley Health System, which has a partnership with Mount Sinai Kravis Children's Hospital, is pleased to welcome pediatric gynecologist Kellie Woodfield, MD.

Dr. Woodfield is now seeing patients at 140 East Ridgewood Avenue, in Paramus, and at Valley Medical Group Pediatrics at 135 N. Kinderkamack Road in Montvale.

“The appointment of Dr. Woodfield to our team is one of Valley’s latest service expansions to offer specialized pediatric care,” said Antonio Quiros, MD, Chair of Children’s Services for Valley Medical Group. “As a result of our partnership with Mount Sinai, our patients will benefit from Dr. Woodfield’s expertise and her ability to collaborate with both her Valley and Mount Sinai colleagues on cases as needed.”

Dr. Woodfield is a fellowship-trained pediatric and adolescent gynecologist who specializes in the gynecologic needs of individuals from infancy to early adulthood. In addition to caring for routine gynecologic issues in this population, such as heavy or irregular menstrual bleeding, PCOS, dysmenorrhea/pelvic pain, ovarian cysts, conditions of the vulva and vagina, and breast disorders, she has a particular interest in teens with complex medical needs, congenital anomalies of the reproductive tract, primary ovarian insufficiency and hormone replacement therapy, transgender care, abnormal pubertal development, and the effects of cancer treatments on reproductive health.

“I love working with kids and teens. Not only does this population make me laugh, but they pose a unique challenge in knowing how to gain their trust during a visit that is often filled with very personal questions and a vulnerable exam,” said Dr. Woodfield. “I believe the patient is in charge of every step of the exam and will follow the patient’s lead if they are too nervous or need pain management. Many procedures can be done under sedation to help kids and teens feel comfortable during vulnerable, yet medically necessary, procedures.”

Dr. Woodfield obtained her medical degree from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City and a pediatric and adolescent gynecology fellowship at the Children’s Hospital of Colorado in Denver.
