Westfield Garden State Plaza to Transform Center into Racecourse for First-Ever Indoor 5K Race

Westfield Garden State Plaza in partnership with Racefaster will host its first-ever indoor 5K on February 23 from 9:00 am – 11:00 am. Whether you're a seasoned runner chasing a personal best or just looking for a fun, unique way to get moving, the 5K offers a one-of-a-kind opportunity to experience the mall transformed into a racecourse. The top three male and female finishers will have the opportunity to win great prizes and all registrants will get a medal for completing the course plus exclusive swag, shopping, and dining perks courtesy of participating retailers.

"Our first-ever indoor 5K offers a fun, new way for visitors to enjoy Westfield Garden State Plaza on Sundays, alongside our wide selection of entertainment, dining, and the Food Court District, all open every Sunday," said Wesley Rebisz, Senior General Manager, CSM, at Westfield Garden State Plaza. Entry into the 5K is limited to 300 participants and will consist of seven laps around level 2 of the iconic mall. The entry fee is $45.00 plus a $4.00 sign-up fee. The race will be officially timed with prizes awarded to top finishers. All participants will receive a free commemorative t-shirt and finisher medal, plus special discounts at select Westfield Garden State Plaza retailers and restaurants to be redeemed anytime during the week immediately following race day. Individuals interested in participating should secure their spot as this first-time event is anticipated to be a sellout.

All participants will need to check-in in the Family Entertainment Court located on level 1 near Planet Playskool at 9:00 am.
