Care Plus NJ Hiring for New 24/7 Crisis Center in Bergen County

Clinical, medical and peer support professionals sought for new Crisis Receiving Stabilization Center in Paramus

PARAMUS, N.J. (October 1, 2026) – Care Plus NJ, a leading nonprofit provider of integrated behavioral health and substance use disorder services, is hiring clinical, medical and peer support professionals for its new Crisis Receiving Stabilization Center (CRSC) in Paramus as it prepares to open.

The CRSC is a short-term, community-based facility that will provide immediate care for adults experiencing behavioral health or substance use emergencies. Open 24/7, the center will provide voluntary crisis services as an alternative to traditional emergency departments and will be available to individuals through referrals, walk-ins and emergency drop-offs. Individuals will be able to receive in-person crisis intervention and stabilization, clinical assessment and peer support for stays of up to 24 hours.

Care Plus NJ is currently recruiting professionals across several areas of the CRSC’s multidisciplinary team. Open positions include therapists/clinicians, registered nurses (RNs), psychiatric nurse practitioners, a part-time psychiatrist, behavioral health technicians, certified medical assistants and peer support/recovery specialists. Sign-on bonuses are available for select positions.

“Effective crisis care requires more than responding quickly. It requires professionals from multiple disciplines working together to understand each person’s needs, stabilize the immediate crisis and determine the appropriate next step in care,” said Brigitte Johnson, President and CEO of Care Plus NJ. “As we prepare to open the CRSC, our focus is on hiring skilled professionals who can deliver that coordinated, compassionate care 24 hours a day.”

The hiring effort marks the next step toward opening the Paramus CRSC following New Jersey Human Services’ recent $16.45 million investment to support the phased implementation of five centers across the state. With funding in place to move toward opening, Care Plus NJ is now focused on recruiting and onboarding staff. The organization continues to advocate for sustainable, recurring funding to support CRSC operations over the long term.

We are looking for professionals who want to help provide a community-based alternative to the emergency department, where people can receive immediate behavioral health support in a safe, welcoming environment,” Johnson added. “Those who join the CRSC team will have an opportunity to help shape the future of behavioral health crisis care in Bergen County.”

Professionals interested in joining the CRSC team can learn more about available positions and apply through Care Plus NJ’s careers page: https://careplusnj.e3applicants.com/careers.
