OPEN SKATE SEASON BEGINS AT WINTER WONDERLAND ICE RINK
Winter fun continues with ice-skating at Van Saun County Park
(PARAMUS, NJ) – Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco, the Bergen County Board of Commissioners, and the Bergen County Parks Department are pleased to announce the beginning of the open skate season at Winter Wonderland, which starts on Friday, January 7th at 4 p.m. in Van Saun County Park.
Skating sessions at The Rink at Winter Wonderland will be available for the public to enjoy until Sunday, February 20th. Tickets will be sold for $10 in hour-and-a-half sessions which include skate rentals. Tickets are only good for the day and time indicated. Sessions for the first two weeks are now available for purchase at www.bergencountywinterwonderland.com.
“While Bergen County’s Winter Wonderland festival is over, there is still plenty of opportunity left for families to experience winter family fun in Van Saun County Park,” said Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco. “We are excited to once again offer ice skating sessions through February 20th as a way to bring four seasons of programming to our expansive Parks System which spans nearly 10,000 acres.”
“Winter Wonderland has grown in popularity and participation every year,” said Bergen County Commissioner Steve Tanelli. “Extending the open skate season is a wonderful opportunity for families to participate in outdoor fun, at a time when safe activities have been in short supply.”
The hours of operation are Tuesdays-Fridays, 4pm-9:30pm; Saturdays and Sundays, 11am-8:30pm. For an updated schedule visit www.bergencountywinterwonderland.com/calendar.
For additional fun, the Let It GLOW: Holiday Lantern Spectacular at the Bergen County Zoo is still open through January 30. The spectacular, which is sponsored by the Friends of the Bergen County Zoo in partnership with Tianyu Arts & Culture, Inc., features traditional Chinese lanterns with a modern twist, including dozens of hand-painted, larger-than-life structures that celebrate culture, animals, and the warmth of the holidays. Tickets are available for purchase through Eventbrite and for more information, please visit http://www.friendsofbergencountyzoo.org/.
