Paramus opening of NAYA Middle Eastern Counter & Grill, an exciting new neighborhood spot for delicious and truly authentic

Middle Eastern flavors, conveniently accessible at 305 Route 17 South (www.eatnaya.com). Flourishing since 2010, the NAYA concept has proven to be very popular, foremost for its taste, with recipes inherited from older generations and refined for modern diners; the consistent quality and freshness of its ingredients; and the simply generous value of NAYA’s portions. The NAYA team’s passion for creating an enjoyably seamless guest experience within its casual, attractive setting is just as strong as their love for the food itself.

The NAYA team will present a fantastic and flavorful neighborhood Food Festival Weekend for its Grand Opening, beginning with a Ribbon Cutting with Paramus Mayor Chris DiPiazza, Friday March 3rd at 12:30pm. From Friday through Sunday the 5th , guests will be treated to complimentary NAYA Bowls and Rolls. Live entertainment and a DJ will provide a Middle Eastern vibe, celebrating the culture that NAYA represents. There will be opportunities for the whole family to win prizes and goodie bags; there will be games and face painting for the kids, a Henna artist, and much more. In the spirit of generous hospitality that NAYA celebrates, the entire menu will be 50% off during the opening week (through March 10th ).

NAYA invites guests to express themselves, through menu options that offer a multitude of flavorful choices. Upon entering, they are invited to choose their Base: a NAYA Roll (thin white or whole wheat pita), a bountiful Bowl (white rice, or five different kinds of seasonal grains, like sprouted brown rice or colusari red rice), or a super-fresh Salad (crispy Romaine hearts, or a seasonal blend of baby spinach, arugula and red cabbage) with a delicious sumac pomegranate vinaigrette. Next, the centerpiece of the meal is their choice of Protein, where NAYA’s home-style recipes truly shine:

• CHICKEN SHAWARMA: roasted, marinated chicken
• CHICKEN SHISH TAOUK: grilled marinated chicken breast
• BEEF SHAWARMA: roasted, marinated beef
• KAFTA LAMB KEBAB: grilled seasoned beef & lamb meatballs
• CAULIFLOWER: roasted florets, turmeric, za’atar dukkah
• FALAFEL: fried chickpea croquette, herbs, spices

Vegetarians will be very satisfied, and everyone can opt for an extra portion of protein. Finally, guests can personalize their Roll, Bowl or Salad with any (or all!) of 17 different toppings. From exceptional expressions of Middle Eastern classics like Hummus, Baba Ghannouj, or Lemon Tahini; to the tang of Toum Garlic Whip, Pickled Lebanese Cucumbers or Turnips; or a flash of heat, with Jalapeños, Mild Red Sauce, or the even hotter Spicy Green Sauce.

NAYA guests will surely want to complement their meal with any number of very special Appetizers. Cold favorites include Tabboule,Hummus, Grape Leaves or creamy Labne (Lebanese cream cheese), served with fresh-baked pita. The hot favorites open up another world of possibilities, with Kibbe (fried beef dumplings), Fatayer (spinach, lemon and sumac mini pies), Sambousik Jebne (halloumi-stuffed pastries), or Rekakat (three Mediterranean cheeses wrapped in phyllo, deep-fried). A guest could make very filling meal from a sumptuous buffet of their preferred cold and hot appetizers. Make a sweet ending to your NAYA meal with crispy, nutty Baklava, or Nammoura (semolina cake, sweet syrup). For some, a NAYA meal might be even sweeter when it’s delivered—via the NAYA app, and all major delivery apps.

Catering has always been a NAYA specialty, for private parties, celebrations of all kinds, even a casual get-together with friends, or something completely different for a business lunch or meeting, that looks great and tastes amazing. Options from the catering menu are as varied as for individual grab-and-go, and can serve groups of 8 to 10, 18 to 20, or 28 to 30 (or more!). Bowls For All are served buffet-style, and include a variety of bases, proteins and toppings, with fresh pita bread and chips. The Tasting Room options serve the same size groups but with the addition of salad, appetizers and dessert. The Classic Rolls option makes for the perfect, quick group lunch: 10 rolls, cut in half, ready to enjoy. The catering menu also allows a host to custom-select their own small, medium or large trays of “Just Proteins” and Bases or Salads, and hot or cold Appetizers. All of these choices, ordered for delivery or pick-up through the NAYA web site, allow friends or colleagues to come together over delicious, wholesome food.

The Paramus NAYA location will also delight its neighborhood with a retail element called Za’atar Road, a thoughtfully curated marketplace dedicated to celebrating the farmers and artisans across the Levant—that is, the Eastern Mediterranean, the crossroads of cultures that is the birthplace of NAYA. Artisanal foods (spices, jams, oils and vinegars), health and beauty products and home goods will be available for purchase.
