Paramus Police announce the arrest of Jordan Dufont.


On June 28 2023 at 0030 hours, Emerson Police and Westwood Police broadcasted an alert for a 2016 silver Audi that eluded their officers for motor vehicle violations.
The vehicle was operated by Jordan Dufont 23 years of age from Westwood, NJ.

At approximately 0114 hrs Officer Nicholas Tanelli observed the Audi parked and unoccupied in the parking lot of Wendy’s, 657 State Highway #17 South.

Westwood Police Officers arrived and impounded the vehicle.

Through further investigation it was determined that Dufont was picked up by a white Nissan Altima New Jersey registration. Washington Township Officers advised that the owner operator of the Nissan was Dufont’s girlfriend.

Later, at approximately 0255 hours, Officer Tanelli observed the Nissan traveling south on State Highway 17. The vehicle exited westbound on Ridgewood Avenue and a motor vehicle stop was initiated by Officer Nicholas Tanelli and Officer Michael Mordaga.

Jordan Dufont was identified as the passenger in the vehicle. He was instructed to exit the vehicle because he had an active criminal warrant for his arrest for eluding.

He became aggressive and refused commands by the officers to exit the vehicle. While attempting to remove Mr. Dufont from the vehicle he assaulted the officers by kicking them.

After a short scuffle Dufont was handcuffed and transported to Paramus Police headquarters. Officers received non life threatening injuries.


Defendant Jordan Dufont was charged with 2c:29-2a(3)a resisting arrest 3rd degree and 2c:12-1b(5)a aggravated assault on a PO a fourth degree. He was remanded to the BCJ pending his CJP appearance.
