Valley Health System Celebrates Ribbon Cutting of New Hospital in Paramus
RIDGEWOOD, NJ, March 22, 2024 – Valley Health System hosted a ribbon-cutting this morning to celebrate the opening of The Valley Hospital’s new home in Paramus, New Jersey. The Paramus hospital will open on Sunday, April 14, when patients from the Ridgewood hospital will be moved to this new facility, and Valley will begin to provide emergency and inpatient care at its campus in Paramus.
In attendance were New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy, elected leaders, generous donors, distinguished guests, and Valley Health System leaders.
“Today marks the culmination of a vision Valley has long had to offer our community the most technologically advanced, beautifully designed and constructed, sustainable, patient-friendly facility,” said Audrey Meyers, Chief Executive Officer for Valley Health System. “Today, Valley ensures its future as the healthcare system of choice for our region. It is a great privilege to cut this ribbon, knowing that all those who come through our doors for their care will be well served by Valley’s compassionate staff and this stunning facility for generations to come.”
The new 370-bed, state-of-the-art hospital was built with patients, their loved ones, and Valley doctors and staff in mind. Key features of the hospital include single-patient rooms for privacy and healing, an expanded Emergency Department, larger operating rooms, park-like grounds, and the latest technology.
The hospital serves as the anchor of a 40-acre health and wellness campus that unites acute patient care with Valley’s wide range of outpatient services. Included on the comprehensive campus is Valley’s medical arts building, located at 140 East Ridgewood Avenue, and The Robert and Audrey Luckow Pavilion, which houses Valley-Mount Sinai Comprehensive Cancer Care, The George R. Jaqua Same Day Services Center, a full-service retail pharmacy, and more.
“Today’s celebration is exciting for Valley and honors the legacy of more than 70 years of exceptional world-class healthcare delivery,” said Kevin Lobo, Chair of Valley Health System Board of Trustees. “We look forward to expanding Valley’s ability to positively impact the lives of those we serve in our community.”
