"Color and Texture: Anthologies of Artistry" Exhibition at Alfa Art Gallery

New Brunswick, NJ – The community at Alfa Art Gallery invites art enthusiasts to a diverse collection of works that encapsulate the richness of color and the depth of texture across various mediums. Color and Texture:

Anthologies of Artistry brings together an eclectic mix of artists whose works explore the intricate interplay of vibrant color and rich texture, inviting viewers on a journey through diverse artistic landscapes. Brought to life through spontaneous mark-making and richly layered texture, vibrant mixed media paintings that dive deep into the complexities of human emotion are shown in this event.

Artists explore similar themes of identity and tradition with paint, though an interrogation of heritage contrasting the stoicism solitary portraiture. Natural and cultural elements are prominently highlighted with bold colors utilizing fabric as sculpture. The juxtaposition of organic and structural forms is continued in nature-inspired collages and works with wire sculpture. Further abstract expressionistic explorations are found in vibrant graffiti aesthetics and dynamic encaustic pattern making.

Color and Texture: Anthologies of Artistry offers a visual meditation on collective consciousness. Works featuring layers of handmade papers, drawings, and natural elements reflect the transformation and rejuvenation found in nature, encouraging deeper exploration of our environment at large. The essence of color and texture invites viewers to see familiar elements in new and thought-provoking ways through diverse artistic landscapes and themes of humanity, place, and emotion. The exhibition will run from August 27 to October 19, 2024.
