Acclaimed Author Martin Bodek to Speak at JCC of Northern NJ Active Seniors in Honor of Yom HaShoah

River Edge, NJ — The JCC of Northern NJ Active Seniors is honored to welcome Martin Bodek, author of the award-winning book Zaidy’s War: Four Armies, Three Continents, Two Brothers. One Man’s Impossible Story of Endurance, for a special presentation on Thursday, April 24, at 11:00 AM at Kol Dorot, 385 Howland Avenue, River Edge, NJ.
This special event is part of the JCC’s Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day) commemoration, honoring the memory of those who perished and celebrating the resilience of those who survived.
Zaidy’s War chronicles the extraordinary life of Martin Bodek’s grandfather, who survived the Holocaust by serving in four different armies across three continents. Through meticulous research and heartfelt storytelling, Bodek brings to life a remarkable tale of endurance, courage, and survival against unimaginable odds.
“We are privileged to host Martin Bodek and share his grandfather’s inspiring story with our community,” said Jennifer Sauer, the JCC’s Dir. of Active Senior Programming. “As we commemorate Yom HaShoah, it is essential to keep these stories alive and ensure future generations never forget.”
The event is open to the public. Advance registration is required. A suggested donation of $5 per person covers the event as well as a kosher lunch which immediately follows the program.
For more information or to RSVP, please contact Jennifer Sauer at (201) 666-6610 x2.
