Grand Opening of Kenyatta Stewart’s Haledon Campaign Office

Haledon, NJ – Kenyatta Stewart, Democratic candidate for the New Jersey General Assembly in the 35th District, currently serving as Newark’s Corporation Counsel and running mate of Ras Baraka, candidate for Governor of New Jersey, is excited to announce the GRAND OPENING of their new campaign office at 183 Belmont Ave, Haledon, NJ.

The campaign also recently celebrated the opening of its 352 Lanza Ave, Garfield, NJ office. With the addition of these new locations, the campaign now has three offices, including the original site at 243 Broadway, Paterson, NJ, where many local residents have already joined the movement as volunteers.

Haledon residents Shawn Brewington and School Board Member Roxana Cerna proudly hosted the grand opening, welcoming supporters from Prospect Park, Haledon, and North Haledon.

Stewart publicly thanked former Assemblyman Alfred Steele, former Assemblywoman Elease Evans, former Assemblywoman Nellie Pou (now U.S. Congresswoman representing the 9th District), current Assemblywoman Shavonda Sumter, and former Assemblyman Benjie Wimberly (now a State Senator) for paving the way and serving as mentors throughout his journey.

Former Assemblywoman Elease Evans, now a resident of North Haledon, expressed her support for Stewart’s candidacy, stating: “Stewart has a track record of being there for the community. He has the vision and the qualifications to bring this community to the next level.”

Nakima Redmond, former Paterson School Board member, and Councilman Michael Jackson, both First Ward residents, also attended the Haledon opening. Jackson praised Stewart’s dedication to community-focused leadership, while Redmond, a visible supporter, now plays a pivotal role in the campaign.

Stewart shared heartfelt stories from his experiences knocking on doors, highlighting new supporters from Prospect Park, Haledon, and North Haledon. He also thanked Valdo Panzera, a North Haledon School Board member who recently changed his party affiliation from Republican to Democrat in support of Stewart.

The 35th District is a vibrant community filled with diverse cultures, backgrounds, and economic experiences. Kenyatta Stewart is running on a platform of inclusion, equity, and progress—ensuring that every resident, regardless of income, background, or neighborhood, has a fair shot at success.

With a legacy of advocacy through law, public service, and grassroots action, Stewart is ready to take that fight to Trenton.

Kenyatta Stewart’s campaign is about more than one candidate—it’s about a collective vision for a better future.
