Hudson County, NJ — Passaic County Sheriff Thomas Adamo today endorsed Bayonne Mayor James Davis for Hudson County Sheriff in the June 10th Democratic Primary, joining a growing coalition of Democratic leaders and law enforcement professionals in backing Davis’ candidacy.
“As Sheriff of a county with both urban and suburban communities, I understand the importance of having leaders with real experience who can build trust, manage public safety operations effectively, and support first responders,” said Sheriff Adamo. “Mayor James Davis has served honorably in uniform and as mayor of Bayonne. His record reflects a commitment to public service and public safety, and I’m proud to support him for Hudson County Sheriff.”
Adamo also added that Davis’ support for Congresswoman Mikie Sherrill’s gubernatorial campaign reflects a shared vision for the future of the Democratic Party. “I am proud to stand with Congresswoman Sherrill during a tough primary campaign, and I respect Mayor Davis for doing the same,” said Adamo.
Adamo’s support adds to the growing momentum behind the Davis campaign, which has already earned endorsements from the Hudson County Democratic Organization, Somerset County Sheriff Darrin Russo, Essex County Sheriff Amir Jones, local PBA and FOP lodges, and numerous mayors and community leaders.
Mayor Davis thanked Sheriff Adamo for his support, saying, “Sheriff Adamo understands what it means to serve with integrity and to lead during challenging times. I’m honored to have his endorsement, and I look forward to working with him and other law enforcement leaders to strengthen community safety across our region.”
A retired police captain, James Davis, has built a career focused on safety, transparency, and revitalization. As mayor, he led Bayonne through significant economic progress while reducing long-standing debt. As a candidate for Sheriff, Davis is running on a platform of professionalizing the office and restoring pride in the badge through community trust and accountability.
