YOUNG NEW YORK CITY COUPLE TRADE IN URBAN HUSTLE AND BUSTLE FOR SUBURBAN SPACE AND PRIVACY AT THE MARQ TEANECK LUXURY RENTALS

TEANECK, NJ — Like so many young New York City couples before them, Levi Klein and his wife migrated from the Upper West Side to northern New Jersey in hopes of finding a home with more space, privacy and a greater sense of tranquility.
The couple initially eyed purchasing a single-family residence in Bergen County, moving into his wife’s parent’s home in Teaneck while they conducted a search. However, after encountering limited inventory and high prices, the couple pivoted and turned their attention to finding an apartment where they could receive a modern home with world-class amenities at reasonable monthly rents.
“We looked at many homes, but every home we liked was on the higher end of our budget,” Levi said. “We don’t have children yet so there was no rush to buy. We figured there was little reason to strain ourselves and sacrifice things we loved like vacations and travel by overspending on a home. We decided to look for a rental which would allow us to maintain the same lifestyle we were accustomed to.”
Knowing they’d prefer to stay in the Teaneck/Englewood area, the couple conducted an extensive search that focused on almost all the newer, higher-end rental buildings in the two highly sought-after towns.
“We considered several luxury buildings that had been built within the past twenty years,” Levi said. “Some didn’t provide the right apartment size we were looking for, while others didn’t offer the type of neighborhood vibe we wanted. There were also a few that had leasing or management teams we weren’t entirely comfortable with.”
As a commuter to New York City, Mr. Klein would regularly see the progress of a brand-new upscale rental building right off Route 4 in Teaneck. Called The Marq Teaneck, the property would introduce 256 upscale apartment homes and a complete package of five-star amenities to the Bergen County township.
“As I watched the construction of The Marq, I said to myself; homes in that building will surely be upscale,” Levi said
Developed by Malas Development, The Marq Teaneck offered an opening timeline that matched the young couple’s desired date to move into a new rental home, so they decided to pay a visit to the high-end six-story building located at 329 Alfred Avenue.
“The Marq had larger homes with more living space,” Levi commented. “It was brand new, so we had more choice of layout and location. We received the exact floor plan we wanted. A large two-bedroom with a great location overlooking the courtyard.”
The Marq features a mix of studios, one- and two-bedroom homes, including select top-floor loft residences. The upscale residences are loaded with designer finishes, including soaring 19-foot ceilings in select homes. Spacious walk-in closets, in-unit washer/dryers, and spa-inspired baths with matte tiled floors and shower walls enhance daily comfort. Luxury kitchens boast full-size stainless-steel appliances, soft-close cabinetry, polished quartz countertops, and large kitchen islands in select homes. Some residences also feature private balconies. Rents start from $2,495, with limited-time incentives currently available.
“I loved the finishes, layout and the huge closets,” Levi added. “The second bedroom is a flexible space that we use as an occasional home office and guest bedroom.”
Home to nearly 200 residents, The Marq Teaneck is an active and vibrant community with a host of amenities that encourage community interactions but also provide for personal space. Residents have access to the oversized courtyard, which includes a swimming pool, sundeck, private kitchens, BBQ and dining areas, fire pits, and dog run. Inside, there’s co-working spaces, private conference rooms, entertainment lounges, and café areas provide convenience and connectivity. Additional offerings include a state-of-the-art fitness center, pet spa, concierge service, package and grocery lockers, bike storage, private storage rooms, and garage parking with EV charging stations.
“I appreciate the bike room, and my wife loves the gym,” Levi adds. “The landscaped courtyard is great. We spend countless hours using the ping pong and foosball tables. We’ve even hosted friends in the courtyard. It’s been a delight to use the amenities and sit with them by the fire pits. The courtyard is a very enjoyable place to gather outside the home. “
The Kleins have also been very appreciative of The Marq’s location, which is minutes from all that Teaneck and Englewood have to offer.
The Marq is located near the Cedar Lane shopping district and downtown Englewood, with proximity to major retail destinations like The Shops at Riverside. Cultural venues such as Bergen PAC are also nearby. Commuters benefit from quick access to Routes 4, 80, and 95, as well as NJ Transit bus service into Manhattan.
