Bergen Volunteers’ Popular Paddles & Prosecco Fundraiser Returns August 7

The Community is Invited to Come Together for an Evening of Pickleball, Prosecco, and Purpose
Paramus, New Jersey July 2025 — Back by popular demand, Bergen Volunteers, a leading not-for-profit providing critical social welfare programs throughout Bergen County, will host its second annual Paddles & Prosecco fundraiser on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at the Bergen County Pickleball Club in Tenafly from 7:00 to 9:30 p.m.

This unique charity event blends spirited pickleball play with celebratory bubbly, raffle prizes, and a silent auction, all in support of programs that serve the elderly, mentor vulnerable youth, assist at-risk families as well as provide teen and adult leadership training.

The evening will feature pickleball matches and lessons, along with food, drink, camaraderie, and networking. Tickets are available for $85 per person to secure a spot at one of Bergen County’s most buzzed-about summer social events. Sponsorships are also available to local businesses and corporations and include high visibility branding opportunities in event communications. Tickets can be purchased via the event website: https://my.onecause.com/...

“While we are thrilled to present a very enjoyable summer evening, and for sure Paddles & Prosecco puts the fun in fundraising, it’s important to realize that the programs of Bergen Volunteers provide essential support at a time when many public agency sources of social welfare funding have been adversely affected by budget cuts,” said Shara Nadler, chief executive officer of Bergen Volunteers. “Our programs typically fill the gap where public funding stops for services to the elderly, youth, at-risk families and adult job training. Rest assured, whether you're coming out to get on the paddleball court, participating in the silent auction or simply buying a ticket to enjoy an uplifting community event, you are helping your neighbors in a substantial way when you participate in Paddles & Prosecco.”

The Paddles & Prosecco event would not be possible without the support of local businesses. NB Liquors of Teterboro has again donated the prosecco for this year’s event. Another return sponsor, Applause Home Care, has a special message to share with the community: “As a Bergen Leads graduate and a witness to the CHORE and CHEER programs in action, I have seen the organization’s dedication and differences made for both future leaders and the elder community that Bergen Volunteers serves year after year,” said Jim Prussak, chief executive officer of Applause Home Care.

Chair massages will also be available at this year’s event, generously donated by the Spine and Health Center of New Jersey.

Other local businesses that have kindly stepped up to enhance the mission of Bergen Volunteers include Units of Northern New Jersey, which is donating storage for CHORE program tools and supplies that enable volunteers to implement safety measures in elderly clients’ homes; and Synetek Solutions which provides Bergen Volunteers with managed services related to information technology.

Even if members of the community might be away on vacation during Paddles & Prosecco, the silent auction is available online, offering an opportunity to participate in the fun from anywhere. Last year’s event generated quite an enthusiastic response with an array of luxury prizes. Here are a few highlights from the upcoming event:

Two passes to SoJo Spa Club in Edgewater – A world-class wellness destination offering panoramic views of the NYC skyline, rooftop pools, rejuvenating spa treatments, saunas and a complete Korean bathhouse experience.

A 7-to 10-night stay at the St. James’s Club & Villas Antigua – Courtesy of Elite Island Resorts, this family-friendly getaway for up to six guests (valued at $3,600) includes premium accommodations on a private 100-acre peninsula featuring turquoise waters, two beaches, six pools, water sports, dining, and entertainment.

Four tickets and a parking pass for the Sunday, August 10 MetLife Stadium evening show of The Jonas Brothers Living the Dream Tour, with seats in the PSE&G suite, food and soft drinks included.

While the financial impact of events such as Paddles & Prosecco might be easy to measure, the personal rewards of neighbors coming together can be more challenging to quantify.  For community member Jessica Hirsh of Tenafly, last year’s event was a turning point: “The night was an amazing experience! I had never heard of Bergen Volunteers prior to this evening,” said Ms. Hirsch. “While I enjoyed playing pickleball and mingling with friends, the highlight for me was learning about all the fabulous programs. I was so moved by the incredible impact they have made to individuals and families in Bergen County that I am now involved myself in promoting events and raising money for these invaluable community services.”
