FREE GOLF FOR BERGEN VETERANS & SERVICE MEMBERS IN HONOR OF VETERANS DAY

Veterans and service members can receive one free round of golf at any county-operated golf course
HACKENSACK, N.J. – Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco, the Board of County Commissioners, the County Parks Department, and the County’s Division of Veteran Services announce that all Bergen County veterans and active-duty service members can enjoy a free round of golf at any of the County’s six golf courses from Monday, November 10th to Friday, November 14th.
“Honoring our veterans and service members isn’t something we should do just one day a year – it’s a commitment we should keep every day,” said County Executive Jim Tedesco. “But offering a free round of golf is a simple but heartfelt way to say thank you for the courage, dedication, and sacrifice of the men and women who have served our nation. We hope this small gesture provides a chance to relax, recharge, and enjoy one of Bergen County’s beautiful courses among friends.”
“Our veterans have given so much to this country, and we want them to know that Bergen County stands with them — not just on Veterans Day, but every day,” said Commissioner Steve Tanelli. “This initiative is a small way to say thank you and remind our service members how much they mean to our community.”
To enjoy this opportunity, veterans and active-duty service members must be residents of Bergen County. Veterans and active-duty service members can reserve a tee-time for up to four golfers but golfers accompanying the reservation who are not active-duty or a veteran must pay full price.
To guarantee a tee-time, Bergen County veterans and active-duty military can make an “early-access” reservation by calling the County’s Division of Golf in advance at 201-336-7259 from Monday, October 27th through Friday, October 31st, during normal business hours (8am – 3pm). The purpose of the “early-access” reservation is to allow veterans and active-duty service members to book a tee-time before the online registration portal opens to all golfers for the week of November 10th. Please note, reservation availability may be limited after Friday, October 31st.
When making an “early-access” reservation, Bergen County veterans and active-duty military members will be asked for the following information:
Full Name
Town
Date of Birth
Military Branch and years of service
Email and Phone
Number of golfers (4 golfer maximum)
Please note that this special offer applies to greens fees only. If golfers choose to use a cart, the cart fee remains in effect.
Bergen County has six golf courses which include Darlington Golf Course in Mahwah, Orchard Hills Golf Course in Paramus, Overpeck Golf Course in Teaneck, Rockleigh Golf Course in Rockleigh, Soldier Hill Golf Course in Emerson, and Valley Brook Golf Course in River Vale.
