Board-Certified Surgeon Brings Advanced Training in Minimally Invasive and Robotic Surgery to Paramus Practice
PARAMUS, N.J — October 28,2026 — One Surgical Specialists, a pioneer in patient-focused, minimally invasive laparoscopic and robotic surgery, has expanded its team with the addition of Dr. Charles J. Freeburg as an associate, building on its recent move to a larger office in Paramus.
The expansion brings additional surgical expertise to the practice, whose surgeons have repeatedly been recognized among New Jersey Monthly magazine’s “Top Docs.” Its office is located at 2 Sears Drive, Suite 202.

Freeburg is certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery. He completed a fellowship in minimally invasive and bariatric surgery at AdventHealth Tampa and his general surgery residency at Indiana University School of Medicine. He earned his medical degree from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Medicine.
His fellowship included advanced training in robotic and laparoscopic weight- loss surgery, procedures involving the esophagus and stomach, and general surgery, as well as revisional operations and upper endoscopy. His clinical interests include minimally invasive approaches to colorectal conditions, gallbladder disease and hernias.

The expansion of One Surgical Specialists’ practice’s expansion comes as robotic-assisted surgery continues to grow. Intuitive, the manufacturer of da Vinci surgical systems commonly used in robotic surgeries, reported approximately 889,000 da Vinci procedures worldwide in the second quarter of 2026, a 15% increase over the same period in 2025.
What’s more, robotic-assisted surgery allows surgeons to operate through small incisions using instruments controlled from a console, with magnified, three-dimensional views of the surgical area. For appropriately selected patients, minimally invasive approaches can offer less blood loss, shorter hospital stays and faster recovery than traditional open surgery, according to the American College of Surgeons. The appropriate approach depends on the procedure and the patient’s individual needs.
