Valley Achieves High-Level Most Wired Certification for 2021
RIDGEWOOD, NJ, October 12, 2021 —Valley Health System has been recognized as one of the nation’s “Most Wired” according to CHIME HealthCare’s Most Wired? 2021 survey. CHIME HealthCare’s Most Wired distinction recognizes hospitals and health systems that are at the forefront of using healthcare IT to improve the delivery of care.
Valley received a Level 9 certification, which is one of the highest certifications given by CHIME. According to CHIME, organizations that achieve a Level 9 certification are leaders in healthcare technology. As a result, they are realizing meaningful outcomes, including improved quality of care, improved patient experience, reduced costs, and broader patient access to healthcare services.
“Valley is proud to have once again made the Most Wired list and to have earned one of the highest certification levels,” said Eric Carey, Vice President of Information Systems and Chief Information Officer for Valley Health System. “We are strategically leveraging our technology to optimize access to high-quality care and to improve outcomes and the patient experience.
This is the twenty-first year that Valley has made this prestigious list.
CHIME HealthCare conducts an annual survey to assess how effectively healthcare organizations apply core and advanced technologies into their clinical and business programs to improve healthcare in their communities. Each participating organization was given scores for individual levels in eight categories: infrastructure; security; business/disaster recovery; administrative/supply chain; analytics/data management; interoperability/population health; patient engagement; and clinical quality/safety. This year, CHIME added an ambulatory survey in addition to the domestic survey, expanded international outreach, and incorporated an improved system that allows participating organizations to better benchmark their level of adoption and outcomes achieved.
“Digital transformation in healthcare has accelerated to an unprecedented level since 2020, and the next few years will bring a wave of innovation that empowers healthcare consumers and will astound the industry,” said CHIME President and CEO Russell P. Branzell. “The Digital Health Most Wired program recognizes the outstanding digital leaders who have paved the way for this imminent revolution in healthcare. Their trailblazing commitment to rapid transformation has set an example for the entire industry in how to pursue a leadership vision with determination, brilliant planning and courage to overcome all challenges.”
