Bergen Volunteers Appoints Shara Nadler as their New CEO


Hackensack, NJ, September 2024 - Shara Nadler has been named Chief Executive Officer at Bergen Volunteers, effective September 9, 2024, the agency’s Board of Directors announced today.

“We are excited to welcome Shara Nadler as our CEO,” said Paul Coller, President of the Bergen Volunteers Board. “Ms. Nadler comes to us with a very strong career in nonprofit and business leadership. Her understanding and support for the community and for Bergen Volunteers’ mission, will help our organization continue to expand its reach among Bergen County residents in need of our services.”

“I am thrilled to lead Bergen Volunteers forward with committed board members, volunteers, staff, and community partners to further help meet the needs in our community,” said Shara Nadler, incoming CEO. “It is inspiring to see the impact that volunteers can have on building a stronger, vibrant community, and I look forward to new opportunities and partnerships to grow our resources and expand our impact and reach.”

Most recently, Ms. Nadler was the Director of Development and Corporate Sponsorships at the Jewish Federation of Northern New Jersey (JFNNJ). During her tenure at JFNNJ, she directed and grew their Volunteer Center, expanded volunteer engagement across northern New Jersey, established new community and corporate partnerships, convened community stakeholders, and advanced fundraising opportunities, among other notable contributions.

Ms. Nadler has more than 30 years of professional experience in both for- and non-profit settings. Prior to JFNNJ, Shara Nadler was the founder and CEO of iPiggiBank, an

education-based company that created interactive financial literacy curricula and programs for students in grades K-8. Partnering with public and private schools, after-school programs and clubs, corporate partners and others, her company educated thousands of students on the fundamentals of money management. She has also served as a marketing and public relations executive for companies on the East and West Coasts.

Ms. Nadler holds a Master of Public Administration with a specialization in non-profit management from Baruch College Marxe School of Public and International Affairs, and a

Bachelor of Science in mass communications from Boston University’s College of Communication.
