ENHANCED SESAME STREET LEARN & PLAY REOPENS AT AMERICAN DREAM

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ (February 19, 2026) – American Dream and Sesame Workshop, the global nonprofit behind Sesame Street, proudly announce the reopening of the newly enhanced Sesame Street Learn & Play.

The improved Sesame Street Learn & Play – the only attraction of its kind in the United States - includes brand-new interactive experiences with even more opportunities to laugh, play, and connect with your favorite furry friends. The attraction continues to create timeless memories for the whole family through exciting adventures, fun learning experiences, photo opportunities, and more.

“We’re constantly raising the bar to deliver unforgettable experiences for our guests, and the new and improved Sesame Street Learn & Play shows how we turn something special into something truly exceptional,” said Adam Petrick, Chief Marketing Officer of American Dream. “The reimagined educational play center solidifies its status as a must-visit destination, giving families a fun, immersive, and educational experience filled with lasting memories.”

“We’re delivering double the fun and even more meaningful moments for families to learn and play together,” said Jennifer Ahearn, Senior Vice President, Global Strategic Partnerships & Themed Entertainment, Sesame Workshop. “From helping Cookie Monster ‘make cookies’ in the Cookie Factory to training alongside Grover at Junior Firefighter School, these new hands‑on experiences are designed to spark creativity, curiosity, and joyful learning.”

New highlights include Cookie Monster’s Cookie Factory, Grover’s Junior Firefighter School, Oscar’s Rotten Fun Fest, and more.

At Cookie Monster’s Cookie Factory, a fun ball pit experience, children help Cookie Monster “make cookies” by putting ingredient balls into his wacky mixing machines.

At Grover’s Junior Firefighter School, kids join Grover for hands-on firefighter training, climbing and crawling through obstacle courses, practicing hose-targeting skills, and hopping aboard for a whirlwind fire truck driving lesson.

Guests can also visit Oscar’s Rotten Fun Fest, where children play grouchy games, such as Trashy Treasure Hunt, Can Crusher, and the Seed Chute Shimmy, while learning about recycling and more.

For even more fun, children can head over to the Sesame Street Playground where they can climb, slide, ride, and explore in more ways than ever before, then stop by the Laundromat and sort different-colored fabrics into their corresponding laundry machines.

These additions complement fan-favorite experiences, including exploring the rainforest in Elmo’s World, role-playing a shopping experience in Hooper’s Store, and sharing laughs with Bert and Ernie. Families can continue to capture memories around the Sesame Street neighborhood, such as the iconic 123 Stoop and Big Bird’s nest. Plus, Elmo, Cookie Monster, Abby Cadabby, Big Bird, and the newest friend, Oscar the Grouch, will make appearances to add to the furry fun.
