Description
Law Enforcement Against Drugs and Violence (L.E.A.D.) is having its inaugural 5k Run/Walk in Ridgefield Park on Saturday, October 16, at 9 a.m. Hosted by L.E.A.D., which teaches students about the dangers of drugs and violence, the race, sponsored by Colliers Engineering and Design and Green Team Worldwide Environmental Group, will take place at Overpeck County Park, located on Challenger Road.
Supported by dedicated police officers, L.E.A.D. provides leadership and resources so law enforcement agencies can partner with educators, community leaders and families with the only proven effective anti–drug, anti–violence curriculum for students K-12. Over the course of the 10-week program, officers and educators teach the L.E.A.D. curriculum to educate our youth on how they can make smart decisions without the involvement of drugs. L.E.A.D. currently operates in 37 states across the U.S.
The race will start on Challenger Road, where participants will run or walk their three miles to the finish line. All runners will be provided with accurate times.
