A dynamic panel of Berkeley College alumnae will share their college and career journeys to law school and beyond, during “Life After Berkeley College: Law School and Legal Careers,” a free webinar on Thursday, April 7, 2022, at 6 p.m. The event is open to the public and anyone considering a career path in the legal field. 

Panelists include Kendeil A. Dorvilier, Esq., an associate attorney in McCarter & English’s Corporate Practice Group; Olga Kerenova, Esq., Professor, Legal Studies, Berkeley College School of Professional Studies; Laura Riano, a second-year student at Touro Law Center; and Samantha Chase, a third-year student at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. Moya Bansile, Esq., Professor, Legal Studies, Berkeley College School of Professional Studies, and Patricia Greer, Chair, Legal Studies, Berkeley College School of Professional Studies, will moderate the panel. Panelist Profiles 

Kendeil A. Dorvilier, Esq.

Kendeil A. Dorvilier, Esq., is an associate attorney in McCarter & English’s Corporate Practice Group, where she advises clients on a variety of governance issues and middle-market mergers and acquisitions in accordance with the Delaware General Corporation Law. Dorvilier graduated from Villanova University’s Charles Widger School of Law in 2020 with a Juris Doctorate/Master of Business Administration. She served as President of the Black Law Students Association. During law school, she interned for the Honorable Mary F. Walrath in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware, as well as the Office of Governor John Carney. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Berkeley College, where she was an Honors scholar. 

Olga Kerenova, Esq.

Olga Kerenova, Esq., has always been a strong supporter of human rights and is involved in several programs and advocacy efforts abroad to prevent human trafficking. During her time at Masaryk University’s Faculty of Law in the Czech Republic, she conducted research on the relationship between the legalization of prostitution and human trafficking in Eastern Europe. She is currently conducting her research in the Balkan States, formerly Yugoslavia, while also participating in public discussions as a speaker at conferences and in public awareness initiatives. She serves as an Adjunct Professor of Legal Studies at Berkeley College. Kerenova holds a Juris Doctorate from the University of Illinois’ John Marshal Law School, a Master of Science in Global Affairs from New York University, and a Bachelor of Business Administration in General Business and an Associate in Applied Science in Paralegal Studies from Berkeley College. 

Laura Riano

Laura Riano is in her second year at Touro Law Center in Central Islip, NY. Prior to entering law school, Riano worked as a paralegal at a real estate law firm. Riano also worked for Laura Brandt, better known as “The Retail Lawyer,” where she explored various aspects of business law catered to small retail businesses. At Touro, Riano is a member of the Trial Advocacy and Practice Honors Society (TAPS) and the Vice President of the Latin American Law Student association (LALSA). She is a member of the Moot Court Honors Board and was the first-place winner of the 39th Annual Bainbridge Moot Court Competition. Riano holds a Bachelor’s of Business Administration in General Business from Berkeley College. 

Samantha Chase

Samantha Chase is a third-year student at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, and will graduate with the Class of 2022. During law school, she worked for the New York City Office of Administrative Trials and Hearings and the litigation firm Shiryak, Bowman, Anderson, Gill and Kadochnikov, LLP. She clerked as an Alexander Fellow in the Southern District of New York for The Honorable Judge Briccetti, and is a Senior Editor on Cardozo’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Competition Honor Society. She is also a student mediator in Cardozo’s Mediation Clinic and an Associate Justice on Cardozo’s SBA Judiciary. Chase also competed on Cardozo’s team in the 28th Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot and serves as student coach for the team. She has secured a position with Ropes & Gray in the New York City office in the Employment, Executive Compensation, and Employee Benefits practice group. Chase graduated from Berkeley College in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies. 

Moderator Profiles 

Moya S. H. Bansile, Esq. 

Moya S. H. Bansile, Esq., is a Professor in the Legal Studies Department, Berkeley College School of Professional Studies. She holds a Juris Doctorate from the Seton Hall University School of Law and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the City University of New York, York College. Bansile is licensed to practice law in New York, New Jersey and Federal Courts. During over two and a half decades of private law practice, Bansile maintained a general law practice focusing on family law, immigration law and employment law. Early in her legal career, she interned with the United States District Court and Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey and Clerked for Honorable Kenneth S. Levy, Judge of the Superior Court of New Jersey, Essex County, Law Division – Criminal Part and later Chancery Division – Family Part. At Berkeley College, Bansile serves as Co-Chair of the Diversity Equity and Inclusion Advisory Committee, Director of the Pre-Law Advisory Center, and a member of the Legal Studies Advisory Board. 

Patricia Greer, Esq.

Patricia Greer, Esq., is the Chair of the Legal Studies Department, Berkeley College School of Professional Studies. She has been a faculty member at Berkeley College for 25 years. Greer is admitted to the New York State Bar and practiced in the area of corporate transactional law at Bennett & Samios, LLP, in Manhattan, NY, prior to joining Berkeley College full time. At Berkeley College, Greer is Chair of the Legal Studies Advisory Board and is a member of the Curriculum Committee and the Committee on Research. She also assists Professor Bansile with the administration of the Pre-Law Advisory Center. Greer serves as a member of the Business Council of the Newark Museum of Art. She holds a Juris Doctorate from St. John’s University School of Law, a Master of Arts in English from the University of Rochester, and a Bachelor of Arts in English and French from Colgate University.
