West Side Presbyterian Church Sponsors Service Project to Combat Hunger
RIDGEWOOD – Want to learn about the global hunger epidemic and be part of the solution?
Come to West Side Presbyterian Church on Saturday, May 21 at 10:00 am for a community-wide service project where participants will package 10,000 meals in two hours for Rise Against Hunger, whose mission is to end hunger worldwide by 2030.
Seventy to 80 volunteers are needed to assemble the packages containing rice, soy protein, dehydrated vegetables and 20 essential vitamins and nutrients, which will be distributed to vulnerable communities around the world.
It’s a wonderful hands-on service project for ALL AGES, including families with children as young as kindergarten. (Please note: This is not a drop-off event. You must accompany your child.)
Rise Against Hunger, an international humanitarian organization, is growing a global movement to end hunger by empowering communities, nourishing lives and responding to emergencies. With locations across the United States and five international offices, the organization provides immediate nourishment for those facing hunger today and implements sustainable solutions that will lift entire communities for years to come. Rise Against Hunger has facilitated volunteer meal packaging of more than 540 million meals to be distributed to countries around the world.
