Valley Welcomes Director of OB/GYN Residency Program
RIDGEWOOD, NJ, August 22, 2022 — Valley Health System is pleased to welcome Kajal Angras, DO, as a member of the Maternal-Fetal Medicine team and Director of the soon-to-be established Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN) Residency Program.
Dr. Angras will have oversight and leadership responsibility for the management of the new medical residency program that Valley will initiate in partnership with the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. The new program will assist the region to educate and train the next generation of physicians in the field of obstetrics and gynecology. Valley anticipates it will be able to start the recruitment process for residency in 2023 with matriculation of the first class in July 2024.
Dr. Angras is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and specializes in maternal-fetal medicine. Her clinical interests include obesity, diabetes, and hypertension. Dr. Angras participates in ongoing research projects and has participated in many presentations and publications.
“I believe that research is an integral part of medicine. My research focus is to examine the impact of maternal conditions on the developing fetus,” Dr. Angras said. “I have a number of ongoing studies to help define the role of obesity and gestational diabetes in adverse pregnancy outcomes in an attempt to reduce the risks associated with these conditions in pregnancy.”

Dr. Angras obtained her medical degree from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her residency in Obstetrics at New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital and her maternal-fetal medicine fellowship at Geisinger Medical Center in Pennsylvania.
