Valley Medical Group Welcomes New Medical Director of Pediatric Endocrinology
RIDGEWOOD, NJ, October 12, 2022 – Valley Health System is pleased to announce the appointment of Indrajit Majumdar, MD, as Medical Director of Pediatric Endocrinology for Valley Medical Group.
Dr. Majumdar is board certified in pediatrics, pediatric endocrinology, and obesity medicine. He specializes in inpatient and outpatient care for children and adolescents with various endocrinological and metabolic disorders, including juvenile diabetes; obesity; metabolic syndromes; calcium and bone disorders; and abnormalities of growth and puberty. He has a specific interest in obesity management and diabetes.
Dr. Majumdar joins Valley from John R. Oishei Children’s Hospital in Buffalo, New York, where he served as the Medical Director of Children’s Healthy Weigh of Buffalo, a multi-disciplinary pediatric and adolescent weight management center. He also served as the Program Coordinator for the American Diabetes Association recognized Diabetes Self Care Management Education Program for the Diabetes Center at the Women and Children’s Hospital of Buffalo.

Antonio Quiros, MD, DHA, Chair of Children’s Services for Valley Medical Group, and Clinical Professor of Pediatrics and faculty member at Mount Sinai Kravis Children’s Hospital and the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. “Dr. Majumdar’s knowledge and expertise in pediatric endocrinology, combined with his prior leadership experience, will serve as a valuable asset to our team. Dr. Majumdar is a nationally recognized leader in the area of pediatric diabetes and weight management and will be working with the Mount Sinai team in the development of a new Pediatric Bariatric Surgery Program as Medical Director.”
Dr. Majumdar received his medical degree from Maulana Azad Medical College at the University of Delhi in India. He completed a pediatric residency at the University of Buffalo in New York and pediatric endocrinology fellowships at the University of Buffalo and Women and Children’s Hospital of Buffalo. Dr. Majumdar has participated in extensive research and has been published numerous times.
Dr. Majumdar will see patients at 140 East Ridgewood Avenue, Suite N480, in Paramus.
