Kohl’s gifts $5 million to nonprofits nationwide, including a grant of $35,000 for health and wellness of Paterson and Passaic families.

Paterson, NJ, January 4, 2023 – The Boys & Girls Club of Paterson and Passaic serves over 1,000 children per day at two Clubhouses and 10 satellite locations throughout the community. As a leader in youth services and a pillar of the Paterson and Passaic communities for over 60 years, the Boys & Girls Club focuses on academic, athletic and artistic programming both after school and during summer camp, as well as healthy habits and social-emotional learning. In addition, each day, a nutritious snack and meal are served to Club Kids to ensure that they receive the “fuel” to keep them striving and thriving. Support for these programs will be provided through a $35,000 grant from Kohl’s A Community with Heart program.

“We’re thrilled to have received this grant and even more excited for the opportunity it presents to the children we serve,” said Wendy McGuire, Chief Executive Officer.  “Our programs are grounded in academics, but health and wellness, including mental health, are important elements in ensuring that our Club Kids can make healthy choices to help them learn, grow and thrive. It means a great deal to us that Kohl’s supports this, and that our Club was selected by the Kohl’s store teams and leaders that are engaged in our programs.”
