L.E.A.D. Fest Carnival Hosted by L.E.A.D. (Law Enforcement Against Drugs & Violence) Will Come to Westfield Garden State Plaza This May and June


L.E.A.D. Fest Carnival in Paramus Will Allow More Students in the Area to Learn About the Dangers of Drugs and Violence and Help Strengthen the Relationship Between Law Enforcement and the Paramus Community

PARAMUS, NJ – May 23, 2023 – Starting on May 25, people among the Paramus community and other folks in surrounding towns are invited to attend the L.E.A.D. Fest Carnival at Westfield Garden State Plaza to enjoy food, rides and entertainment. Hosted by L.E.A.D. (Law Enforcement Against Drugs & Violence), a nationwide nonprofit that works with communities to help students understand the dangers of drugs and violence, the L.E.A.D. Fest Carnival will be open to the public from:

Thursday, May 25 - Sunday, June 11

The hours are:

Wednesday - Friday: 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Saturday/Sunday/Memorial Day: 3 p.m. to 11 p.m.

“We’re excited to bring our L.E.A.D. Fest Carnival to Westfield Garden State Plaza as the public will get to enjoy various activities at the event,” said Nick DeMauro, CEO of L.E.A.D. “We look forward to seeing the turnout as everyone who attends will help us to advance the program that we have for school children in Paramus, by preventing more students in the town from becoming involved with drugs and violence and continuing to improve police-community relationships.”

L.E.A.D. provides services “On the Street” and “In the Classroom” as it brings law enforcement and communities closer together. The “In the Classroom” program is taught by 3800 trained instructors in 41 states. L.E.A.D. has a proven effective, law enforcement-focused anti–drug, anti–violence curriculum for K-12 students in the U.S. The L.E.A.D. curriculum is taught over the course of a 10-week program to educate youth on how they can make smart decisions without the involvement of drugs or violence.

Along with fairway rides, performances will be held by Anastasini Circus at the L.E.A.D. Fest Carnival, which are included in the general admission price of $5. Midway will be provided by Reithoffer Shows.

First Responder Night will be on Wednesdays at the L.E.A.D. Fest Carnival, where all first responders will receive free admission for themselves and a guest when they present a valid badge or ID card at the gate. There will also be a sale on Memorial Day, which will allow attendees $10 off the ride wristband and free admission from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
