BERKELEY COLLEGE ANNOUNCES OPPORTUNITY GRANT FOR QUALIFIED NEW JERSEY RESIDENTS TO EARN A DEGREE DEBT-FREE


Qualified New Jersey residents can enroll in a full-time Associate’s degree program without incurring any loans for tuition and fees, through the Berkeley College Opportunity Grant. Students who meet the requirements can enroll for the fall 2023 semester, which begins on Tuesday, September 5, 2023.

“Berkeley College is committed to developing affordable pathways to higher education that empower students to achieve personal growth and success,” said Diane Recinos, EdD, President of Berkeley College. “The Berkeley College Opportunity Grant, as well as the College’s Tuition Freeze Program for current students, prioritize affordability so students can reach their educational goals.” 

In addition to these efforts to make a Berkeley College education more affordable, there is not any increase in tuition for the 2023-2024 academic year. 

Earlier this year, Berkeley College introduced the Newark Promise Grant, an opportunity for qualified residents of Essex County, NJ, to pursue an Associate’s degree debt-free at the Berkeley College campus in Newark, NJ. The Berkeley College Opportunity Grant expands on this initiative, opening doors for students to pursue an Associate’s degree at any Berkeley College New Jersey campus or online. 

The Berkeley College Opportunity Grant applies to Associate’s degree programs in Accounting; Fashion Merchandising and Management; Health Sciences – Patient Care Technician; Health Sciences – Surgical Processing Technician; Health Services Administration; Health Services Administration – Medical Insurance, Billing, and Coding; Information Technology Management; Interior Design; International Business; Justice Studies – Criminal Justice; Legal Studies; Management; Marketing Communications; Medical Assistant; and Surgical Technology. 

Berkeley College students benefit from the College’s 92-year history of career-focused education and learn from faculty with real-world experience. Students pursuing degrees on-site or online receive support services including Academic Advisement, the Center for Academic Success, Career Services, and the Office of Military and Veterans Affairs. Campus life experiences include clubs, volunteerism, wellness and personal development programs, and workshops focusing on student success. 

Qualified students will receive the Berkeley College Opportunity Grant to cover tuition and fees after all federal and state grants have been applied.
