Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey Donates over 13,000 Packages of Girl Scout Cookies to the New York Blood Center for New Jersey and New York Blood Drives
Girl Scout Cookies to be distributed to blood donors across New Jersey and New York
Riverdale, N.J. – July 25, 2023 – Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey (GSNNJ), the preeminent leadership development organization for girls in Bergen, Morris, Passaic, Sussex, and northern Warren counties, announces a donation of 13,026 packages of Girl Scout Cookies to the New York Blood Center (NYBC), one of the largest community-based, non-profit blood collection and distribution organizations in the United States. The cookies will be distributed to blood donors at upcoming blood drives across the tri-state area in Oakland, Sparta, Parsippany, Denville, Vernon, Rockaway, Bloomingdale, and more. The New York Blood Center picked up the cookies from GSNNJ’s Randolph, Riverdale, and Paramus service centers on June 26.
The Girl Scout Cookies are being donated through GSNNJ’s Cookies from Home Program, which supports local community organizations and food pantries across New Jersey. During Girl Scout Cookie Season, customers have the opportunity to designate cookie purchases as donations which benefit the program. This year, GSNNJ has collected over 102,816 packages of cookies to donate to emergency services, frontline healthcare workers, food pantries, and more through the program.

Along with partner organizations, the New York Blood Center collects approximately 4,000 units of blood products each day which serves 50 million people in the Tri-State area (NY, NJ, CT), Mid-Atlantic area (PA, DE, MD), Kansas City metropolitan area, Minnesota, Nebraska, Rhode Island, and Southern New England.
