Roaring into a Century: NCJW Bergen County Section Closes out 100th Anniversary With Speakeasy Inspired Event

Flappers, gangsters, food, drink, and dancers will make for the celebration of the year
Washington, NJ (October 19, 2023) - National Council of Jewish Women Bergen County Section (NCJW BCS) will round out their 100th anniversary celebration with a prohibition era speakeasy themed party on November 8, 2023 at 6 .pm. at Seasons located at 644 Pascack Rd, Washington Twp, NJ.

The event marks the final celebration of the organization's milestone centennial year. Proceeds from the event will support NCJW BCS’ mission of supporting and advocating for women, children and families in Bergen County.

With the purchase of a ticket, guests are given the “secret” speakeasy code and will have access to an enchanting evening filled with an extravagant buffet dinner, an open bar and a sundae & dessert bar. The event will feature professional dancers and a DJ who will swing, bop, and shuffle guests through decades of dances starting with 1920s favorite, The Charleston.

"During the Prohibition and speakeasy nights, people savored every bite, every sip, every moment of dressing up, dancing to the rhythms, and every moment with friends,” said Joan Ornstein, Co-President of NCJW BCS. “We are excited to go back in time for the night and party like it is 1923 as we celebrate the many achievements of our organization and the meaningful impact we’ve been able to have on our community.”

In addition to food, drinks and dancing, there will be tickets for purchase to secure a spot in the photo booth or purchase a custom flask, among other Prohibition themed activities. While not mandatory, it is encouraged to dress up in a flapper or gangster costume to add to the enjoyment and fun.
