The Community Chest's Fourth Golf Outing to Raise Funds for Nonprofits Responding to Increased Need in the Area
(Eastern Bergen County, New Jersey; April 4, 2024) -- The Community Chest of Eastern Bergen County holds its fourth annual Golf Outing on Monday, May 6 at one of New Jersey's finest golf courses, Edgewood Country Club, located at 449 Rivervale Rd. in River Vale, New Jersey. Golfers may join as individuals or as a foursome. Registration for the outing may be done conveniently online at www.tinyurl.com/ccgolfevent2024.
For nearly a century, The Community Chest has strengthened the community through leadership and philanthropy by spearheading initiatives and supporting nonprofits that help people in need in eastern Bergen County, New Jersey. The golf outing’s net proceeds will support grant awards to nonprofit agencies providing services to people requiring assistance with the following: health and mental health services, educational enhancement/college and career preparation, food insecurity and healthy eating and homecare.
The day's activities begin with registration at 9:00 a.m., followed by a brunch from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. A shotgun start begins at 11:30 a.m., with cocktails at 4:30 p.m. and dinner. During the evening, a celebration, awards ceremony and a silent auction take place. Co-chairs of the outing are Matthew Bert Libien, Managing Director at Wells Fargo Advisors, and John Wilkens, Principal of Robert Wilkens Insurance Agency, a World Insurance Company.

The organization's service area covers these municipalities: Alpine, Bergenfield, Closter, Cresskill, Demarest, Dumont, Englewood, Englewood Cliffs, Harrington Park, Haworth, Northvale, Norwood, Old Tappan, Rockleigh and Tenafly.
For 91 years, The Chest has provided funding to local agencies and nonprofits. The organization also develops collaborative action plans with community partners and identifies and provides solutions for community issues with local influencers. The organization leads critical issues by:
Funding agencies and nonprofits to assist with providing vital services;
Fostering collaborations between nonprofit agencies, government, corporations, and other community partners;
Assisting agencies with expansion of services for key issues; and
Strengthening agencies by offering professional development, teaching best practices, mentoring leaders, and providing issue-specific training.
