L.E.A.D. (Law Enforcement Against Drugs & Violence) to Host L.E.A.D. Fest Carnival at Westfield Garden State Plaza


Carnival in Paramus Will Support L.E.A.D.’s Mission to Educate Students on the Dangers of Drugs and Violence

 

 

PARAMUS, NJ – May 15, 2024 – The L.E.A.D. Fest Carnival at Westfield Garden State Plaza, hosted by L.E.A.D. (Law Enforcement Against Drugs & Violence), a nationwide nonprofit that works with communities to help students understand the dangers of drugs and violence, will begin on May 23. Until June 9, people among the Paramus community and other folks in surrounding towns are invited to enjoy food, rides and entertainment at the carnival.

The dates and hours for the carnival are as follows:

Thursday, May 23 – Monday, May 27

Wednesday, May 29 – Sunday, June 2

Wednesday, June 5 – Sunday, June 9

Wednesday – Friday: 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Saturday/Sunday/Memorial Day: 3 p.m. to 11 p.m.

“We’re thrilled to be hosting the L.E.A.D. Fest Carnival at Westfield Garden State Plaza,” said Nick DeMauro, CEO of L.E.A.D. “We look forward to bringing awareness to our evidence-based program while the attendees get to enjoy themselves at the carnival.”

“It’s a very special event as the folks who attend will help us in furthering our efforts to teach children across the country why steering clear of drugs and violence is critical and bridge the gap between police officers and communities,” added Mr. DeMauro.

L.E.A.D. provides services “On The Street” and “In The Classroom” as it brings law enforcement and communities closer together. The “In The Classroom” program is taught by more than 5000 trained instructors in 45 states, who are serving more than 500,000 students in 2,500 school systems. L.E.A.D. has a proven-effective, law enforcement-focused anti-drug, anti-violence curriculum for K–12 students in the U.S. The L.E.A.D. curriculum is taught over the course of a 10-week program to educate youth on how they can make smart decisions without the involvement of drugs or violence.
