THE LAKES AT DARLINGTON COUNTY PARK OPEN FOR MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND


MAHWAH, N.J. – County Executive Jim Tedesco, the Board of Commissioners, and the County Parks Department announces that starting Saturday, May 25 at 10 a.m., the Lakes at Darlington County Park will reopen for swimming activities. The upper lake, home to the Wibit Splash Zone at Darlington Lake water obstacle course will also be open to all residents above 39 inches tall, for an additional fee.

“Once again, there’s no better place in Bergen County to beat the heat this summer than the lakes at Darlington! Nestled in the Mountain of Mahwah, come relax on our sand beaches or conquer our world-class Wibit Splash Zone obstacle course for refreshing fun, fit for the entire family,” said Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco.

“Darlington Lake is a true jewel of the Bergen County Parks System. Here at the County, we are happy to be able to offer a great way to have fun, stay active and cool down,” said Bergen County Commissioner Steve Tanelli. “We prioritize and invest a lot of focus into our parks, and it is rewarding to have such a great place for our residents to utilize all summer long.”

The swimming lakes at Darlington County Park will only be open on weekends from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. through June 30th. The lake will then be open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Labor Day, September 2.

This season, Darlington County Park and the Wibit Splash Zone at Darlington Lake will accept cash payments as well as all major credit cards.

Admission Pricing:

$10 – Bergen County residents (ages 18-61)

$6 – Children (ages 5-17)

$15 – Out of county Adults (ages 18-61)

$6 – Out of county Senior citizens (ages 62 and up)

$2 – Bergen County Senior citizens (ages 62 and up)

Wibit Splash Zone pricing is listed as follows:

$10 ­– Regular Single Session (In-County)

$15 – Regular Single Session (Out of County)

$5 – Kiddie Single Session (39” – 48” tall) (In-County)

$7 – Kiddie Single Session (39” – 48” tall) (Out of County)

Darlington County Park is comprised of 178 acres nestled at the foothills of the Ramapo Mountains in Mahwah. The park features three lakes, white sand beaches, a wooded picnic area, open lawns, tennis and handball courts, and a bird and wildlife observation. It is prized as one of the crown jewels within the Bergen County Parks System, which spans nearly 10,000 acres, including a nationally accredited zoo, six golf courses, 21 parks, two horseback riding areas, an environmental center, and nine historic sites.
