Valley Health System Gastroenterologist Elected as Chairperson of the American College of Gastroenterology Board of Governors
PARAMUS, NJ, November 19, 2024 – Valley Health System congratulates Valley Medical Group gastroenterology Sita Chokhavatia, MD, on being elected as chairperson of the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG) Board of Governors.
According to their website, the ACG is the leading professional organization dedicated to advancing the field of gastroenterology through impactful patient care, education, and research. ACG governors are elected annually by members and fellows and their respective geographical areas. Governors serve a term of three years. In the chairperson position, Dr. Chokhavatia will oversee a group of more than 75 other governors across the United States and abroad.
“I am honored to have been elected as chairperson for the ACG,” said Dr. Chokhavatia. “I am dedicated to the specialty of gastroenterology and look forward to working with my peers within the ACG to continue to advance this field of medicine.”
Dr. Chokhavatia is board certified in internal medicine, gastroenterology, and geriatric medicine. She has been practicing for over 30 years. She is a Master of the ACG, and a fellow of the American College of Medicine, American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and American Gastroenterology Association. She has served on several national committees within these organizations.
