ShopRite of Rochelle Park and Kellanova Donate $10,000 to ‘Extra Yard for Teachers’ Initiative; Money to Benefit Local Schools

Rochelle Park, NJ (Dec. 13, 2024) — ShopRite and Cheez-It? teamed up to help local teachers and  students with a $10,000 donation presented at the ShopRite of Rochelle Park on Dec. 13.

ShopRite and Kellanova are donating a total of $50,000 in support of the College Football Playoff (CFP) Foundation's Extra Yard for Teachers initiative this fall. Five $10,000 donations will be presented to educators at ShopRite stores across the region, so schools in different communities receive extra support.

The CFP Foundation is the largest sports entity dedicated to inspiring and empowering teachers, and the donations will fund various classroom projects through DonorsChoose. Representatives from local school districts were on hand at the ShopRite of Rochelle Park to accept the $10,000.

"Cheez-It is thrilled to partner with the College Football Playoff Foundation and Extra Yard for Teachers to give back to educators who truly elevate the teaching profession," said Cara Tragseiler, Senior Brand Director for Cheez-It. "It’s an honor to be able to give back to the people who have made such an indelible mark on their students and communities."

“ShopRite recognizes the critical role that education plays in the lives of young students, and we are proud to work with Kellanova to invest in their futures by helping local teachers get the resources they need,” added Terry Glass, co-CEO and co-president of Glass Gardens, which owns and operates the ShopRite of Rochelle Park.

This donation is part of the second iteration of a national partnership between Cheez-It and the CFP Foundation. Cheez-It is making an overall donation of $300,000 to the Extra Yard for Teachers initiative.

It is just one of the ways Kellanova and its brands are bringing to life its Better Days? Promise strategy, which aims to create #BetterDays for 4 billion people by the end of 2030.
