Valley Medical Group Now Offers a Pulmonary Fibrosis Support Group

PARAMUS, NJ, March 11, 2025 – Valley Medical Group now offers a support group for patients diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis.
Pulmonary fibrosis (PF) is a lung disease that causes scarring of the lung tissue, making it difficult to breathe. This support group is supported by the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation – a non-profit organization dedicated to identifying effective treatments and support for those living with PF, as noted on its website – and Valley Health System.

This support group is open to individuals with a variety of fibrotic lung diseases, such as idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), connective tissue disease-related interstitial lung disease (CTD-ILD), or hypersensitivity pneumonitis (HP); family members, caregivers, and friends; and anyone affected by PF.

“This group provides a setting where patients experiencing pulmonary fibrosis can come together to learn about the disease and available treatments; obtain tools to make better decisions regarding their care; express thoughts and feelings; and mutually support each other,” said support group coordinator Emma Goebel, APN, Valley Medical Group.

This in-person and virtual support group takes place quarterly. The in-person sessions take place at different Valley Medical Group locations.

To register for this support group, visit ValleyHealth.com/Events. For more information or questions, please email Emma Goebel at valleypulmfibrosis@valleyhealth.com.
