Habitat for Humanity of Bergen County Announces Katrice Thomas as Executive Director

Westwood, New Jersey, March 17, 2025 – Habitat for Humanity of Bergen County (Habitat Bergen), a leader in affordable housing, today announced that Katrice Thomas has been appointed as Executive Director. Her appointment has been made following a robust and competitive search process, which included detailed consideration of a range of candidates.
Katrice is a seasoned executive leader recognized for top-tier strategic planning and implementation skills, leveraging systems thinking, results-driven management, and technical expertise to deliver impactful solutions. She has more than 20 years of senior management experience, focusing on organizational growth, program expansion, and strategic development. An innovative and results-driven leader, Katrice has successfully overseen diverse and talented teams and managed operating budgets
ranging from $15.0 million to $20.0 million.
Most recently, Katrice led programming for a 46-year-old nonprofit focused on supporting non-traditional construction employment and pre-apprenticeship training opportunities. Her project management expertise, standardization initiatives, process optimization, controls, data management, and technological acumen align seamlessly with Habitat Bergen’s current and future operational needs.

Katrice holds a BA in Psychology with a minor in Anthropology from Long Island University and has completed various professional studies, earning certificates related to her previous roles.
A Hudson County resident, Katrice is deeply passionate about connecting communities to resources while working to reduce generational poverty and systemic inequity.
