PARAMUS TO HOST 13TH ANNUAL RELAY FOR LIFE TO SUPPORT THE AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY

June 06, 2025, PARAMUS, NJ – Relay For Life of Paramus, a community event benefitting the American Cancer Society (ACS), is excited to announce plans for its 13th annual Relay For Life on Friday, June 6, 2025, from 6pm-2am, at Parkway Elementary School located at 145 E. Ridgewood Ave., in Paramus, NJ.
The Relay event celebrates, honors, and remembers those affected by cancer. According to the latest report from the ACS, nearly 60,000 new cancer cases are expected in New Jersey in 2025. Support from events such as Relay helps ACS provide educational resources, fund research into groundbreaking treatments, and provide free rides and lodging for cancer patients receiving treatment.
Paramus held its first Relay in 2013 and has since raised over $1 million for the ACS. Angela DiPasquale was a co-chair as a junior and senior at Paramus High School and is now an active volunteer leadership team member.
"Being involved in planning the Paramus Relay as a student and now as a community member has been incredibly rewarding. The energy and excitement of contributing to such a large-scale event is truly fulfilling. I love witnessing the culmination of all the hard work on the day of the event; it's truly amazing."
During the event, teams of participants will “relay” the responsibility of keeping at least one member walking throughout the event. Meanwhile, participants can also enjoy food from local restaurants, try their luck at winning gift baskets in the Tricky Tray raffle, and compete in one of the many games and competitions the Event Leadership Team will be hosting.
This year, Paramus will welcome teams from the Glen Rock/Fair Lawn Relay For Life, which recently merged with Paramus’s event, as well as a student-run cancer awareness club from River Dell High School.
"We are grateful to the Paramus event for embracing the teams and participants from the Glen Rock/Fair Lawn event. Through this collaboration, we are excited to uphold our 20-year legacy of participating in Relay For Life, fundraising, and supporting the American Cancer Society," expressed Lisa Brown, a teacher-advisor for the Glen Rock Relay For Life.
Valley Health System remains a prominent corporate sponsor/supporter of the event and is excited to participate this year across the street from its new Paramus Campus. A large team of Valley Health Care employees will participate in the event, furthering the health system’s more than 20 years of involvement and nearly half a million dollars raised at Relay For Life events.
Relay is free to attend. However, registration online or by phone is required. More details, including personal fundraising and corporate sponsorship opportunities, can be found online at www.relayforlife.org/paramusnj or by calling 1-800-227-2345.
